Treasure Island

2/2/11 - Elijah Wood, Donald Sutherland and Eddie Izzard have been cast in Syfy's Treasure Island, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Izzard will star as Long John Silver, Wood takes on the role of Ben Gunn and Sutherland plays Flint.  Toby Regbo, Phillip Glenister, Rupert-Penry-Jones, David Harewood and Keith Allen are also part of the cast.  The production is currently shooting in Puerto Rico and Ireland. The two-part telepic is set to premiere on the cable net in early 2012.

1/14/11 - Elijah Wood is joining the cast of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Wood will play Ben Gunn and is joining a cast that includes Eddie Izzard, Philip Glenister and Rupert Penry-Jones who are already filming in Ireland and Puerto Rico.  Glenister plays Captain Smollet, Penry-Jones takes on the role of Squire Trelawney and Daniel Mays is Dr Livesey – who are all on board the The Hispaniola alongside Gunn. Izzard plays Long John Silver.  Backed by Sky1’s multi-million pound HD drama investment fund, the drama was commissioned by Elaine Pyke, Head of Drama, Sky 1 HD and will be made by RHI Entertainment, Parallel Films, MNG Films, Melanie Stokes and Kindle Entertainment and produced Laurie Borg.
