Sci-Fi Film and Television Developments

The Twilight Zone
7/20/09 - The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling's iconic sci-fi anthology TV series, is set to be reborn again as a movie.  Variety reports that Warner Brothers and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way production company have hired Rand Ravich to write a script based on the show. The original Twilight Zone series ran on CBS for five seasons starting in 1959. It was resurrected as a TV show in 1985-'89 (on CBS and then in syndication) and again in 2002 (on UPN). It was also made into a feature film in 1983, with directors such as Steven Spielberg and John Landis helming segments.

7/25/08 - Warner Brothers and Leonardo DiCaprio's production company Appian Way are in the early stages of seeking material for a new feature-film adaptation of the classic SF TV series The Twilight Zone.  The companies are not seeking to remake an episodic movie, as the only big-screen version of the show did 25 years ago, but rather hope to build one continuing storyline based on one or more episodes.
