The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel

11/19/09 - Michael Scott's young adult fantasy novels, The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, will be adapted as a series of feature films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the project.  The books detail the adventures of 15-year-old twins Sophie and Josh Newman as they travel around the world with the immortal alchemist Nicholas Flamel.  Delacrote Press, an imprint of Random House, has published three books in the projected six-part series -- The Alchemyst, The Magician and The Sorceress -- and will publish the fourth, The Necromancer, in May.  "Michael's fantastic series is a natural evolution from Harry Potter," said di Bonaventura.  Scott is a bestselling author whose novels have been published in 20 languages in 37 countries.
