The Rocky Horror Picture Show
9/17/09 - MTV has scrapped plans to do a made-for-cable remake of the 1975 cult musical-horror classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Wrap reported; while not specifying a reason for why the project was killed, a spokeswoman for the Viacom-owned cable channel said the movie has been off the network's development slate for some time.

8/14/08 - British satellite broadcaster BSkyB's Sky Movies network has confirmed that it will co-finance MTV's remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and that the film will premiere exclusively in the United Kingdom on Sky Movies before becoming available on the video-on-demand services Sky Player and Sky Anytime, Variety reported.

7/24/08 - MTV will remake the 1975 SF cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show.  Lou Adler, executive producer of the original film, is partnering with BermanBraun and Fox Television Studios on the new rendition.  The two-hour remake will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien, but may also include music not featured in the original.  The original Rocky Horror, starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meat Loaf, has grossed $140 million in domestic box office over the years.
