Muppets (Disney's Untitled Movie)

12/8/10 - Disney moved next year’s scheduled theatrical release of The Muppets Movie from Christmas to Thanksgiving.  Now set for Wednesday, the film moves to Nov. 23 instead of a previous Sunday, Dec. 25 slot.  Starring in the film along with the usual Muppets cast will be Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones. The movie also will feature cameos by Alan Arkin, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Billy Crystal and Wanda Sykes.  Now shooting in Los Angeles, Muppets was written by Segel and Nicholas Stoller and is directed by James Bobin. 

11/15/10 - Disney’s new Muppets movie will include high-profile cameos, such as Alan Arkin, Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Zach Galifianakis and Jean-Claude Van Damme  under the direction of James Bobin, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The story sees Jason Segel, who wrote the script with Nicholas Stoller, as the human lead who helps those wacky Muppets reunite to put on a show in order to save a movie studio.  Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones are among the human actors in key roles.  Arkin is a tour guide while Black will play a kidnap victim. Galifianakis plays a hobo. Details for others were not available.  David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman will produce.

10/14/10 - Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones are in negotiations to join Disney's untitled Muppet movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Jason Segel is the human lead in the movie, which is being directed by James Bobin.  The story, by Segel and Nicholas Stoller, sees those wacky Muppets reunite to put on a show in order to save a movie studio.  Adams will play Segel's girlfriend, who joins him in the quest to gather the Muppets.  Cooper would be cast as the greedy villain, who wants to buy the studio to dig for the oil beneath it and who never thought the Muppets were funny to begin with.  Jones would play an ABC executive.
