The Last Exorcism 2

9/22/11 - Ashley Bell is in final negotiations to return for the sequel, The Last Exorcism 2, for Strike Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The sequel was written by Damien Chazelle, and Strike's Eric Newman, Gabrielle Neimand and Marc Abraham are producing. The first film, directed by Daniel Stamm, grossed $67.7 million worldwide last August on a budget of a few million dollars.

8/23/11 - The producers of The Last Exorcism are moving ahead with a sequel, tapping writer Damien Chazelle to write, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The Exorcism, from production company Strike Entertainment and directed by Daniel Stamm, grossed $62.5 million worldwide on a budget of $1.6 million. The found-footage Lionsgate release was written by Andrew Gurland and Huck Botko.  Studio Canal is financing the follow-up and production is expected to begin this fall.  Exorcism centered on an Evangelical preacher, played by Patrick Fabian, who, after years of performing exorcisms, decides to allow a documentary crew to film the last exorcism he plans to perform, in order to show his work is a fraud.
