The Hunter

12/8/09 - Scarlet Fire Entertainment is set to produce a film adaptation of Brit scribe Adam Hamdy's comic, The Hunter. Hamdy will adapt the screenplay, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 2007 Dare Comics debut release is a contemporary superhero comic set against the backdrop of organized crime. Hamdy will produce along with Scarlet Fire's Steven Pearl and Allan Loeb. Scarlet Fire exec Shane Abrahams first brought the comic to the company. "We're extremely pleased to be working with Scarlet Fire," said Hamdy, who founded Dare Comics. "They understood 'The Hunter' immediately, and saw in it the potential to create a compelling new universe that loyal fans and newcomers alike will love seeing come to life on the big screen." Hamdy will create an original Hunter story for the film iteration.
