The End of Eternity
4/23/09 - Kevin Macdonald has made a deal with New Regency to develop and direct The End of Eternity, a movie based on Isaac Asimov's 1966 SF novel, Variety reported. Vince Gerardis is producing.  The futuristic tale concerns a ruling class called Eternity whose members can manipulate time and alter history.

11/14/08 - In its first big acquisition since being reconstituted, New Regency has acquired the film rights to The End of Eternity, Isaac Asimov's time-travel novel first published in 1955, Variety reported.  The Asimov novel is a futuristic tale in which humanity is controlled by a ruling class called Eternity, a member of which can manipulate time to alter history and prevent disasters or wipe out undesirables.  One of the time cops flirts with disaster when he breaks the cardinal Eternity rule and falls in love with a woman from another time period.
