The Drought

11/9/09 - Plans for an ecological action horror set in a terrifying post-apocalyptic world with Britain as the backdrop and the main protagonists in The Drought face with a world running out of water, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Lawrence Gough will direct from a script by his long-term writing partner Colin O'Donnell.  U.K. sales and finance house the Works International has teamed up with London-based Mann Made Films and are in advanced discussions to bring the U.K.'s Jonescompany's Robert Jones on board to produce.  Scott Mann will exec produce alongside James Edward Barker and Alan Graves for Mann Made Films.  The film will be produced in association with Hoax Films.  The script details the story of a desperate couple who have avoided the mass exoduses and eked out an existence in their suburban home. They head for London in a last-ditch attempt to find the water they badly need to save themselves and their ailing daughter.
