The Colony

3/29/12 - Bill Paxton has joined The Colony, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Paxton joins Laurence Fishburne and Kevin Zegers in the sci-fi thriller about a group of underground survivors after the next Ice Age fending off an invasion of feral cannibals.  Jeff Renfroe is directing, based on a script he co-wrote with Patrick Tarr, Pascal Trottier and Svet Rouskov.  Alcina Pictures is producing the Ontario/Quebec co-production with Item 7 and Mad Samurai Productions.  Paul Barkin, Colin Brunton, Matthew Cervi, Pierre Even and Marie-Claude Poulin will share producer credits.  Alliance Films will release The Colony in Canada and Britain in 2013.

2/15/12 - Laurence Fishburne is in final negotiation to star in The Colony scheduled to shoot in Toronto, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Kevin Zegers is also near to joining the cast for the sci-fi thriller about a group of underground survivors after the next Ice Age fending off an invasion of feral cannibals.  Jeff Renfroe is directing, based on a script he co-wrote with Patrick Tarr, Pascal Trottier and Svet Rouskov.  Producers are keeping the cast list under wraps until production gets underway in Toronto on February 22.  Alcina Pictures is producing the picture with Item 7 and Mad Samurai Productions.  Paul Barkin, Colin Brunton, Matthew Cervi, Pierre Even and Marie-Claude Poulin will share producer credits.

5/21/10 - Patrick Tatopoulos is in negotiations to direct The Colony, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The project revolves around a group of survivors forced underground by the next ice age. There, they must fight to preserve humanity against a savage threat.  Shooting begins in the fall. Summit Entertainment is co-financing the film and will distribute in the U.S.

7/11/08 - Participant Media has set up the eco-horror movie The Colony, based on a pitch by Stacy Title and Jonathan Penner.
