The Adjustment Bureau 4/28/10 - Universal Pictures has pushed back the release date of Matt Damon's sci-fi thriller The Adjustment Bureau to Sept. 17 from its original July 30.
8/18/09 - Anthony Mackie has been cast in The Adjustment Bureau, MRC's sci-fi thriller for Universal with Matt Damon and Emily Blunt starring and George Nolfi directing from his own script, Variety reported. The Adjustment Bureau, adapted from Philip K. Dick's short story, centers on a smooth-talking congressman whose political future is thrown in doubt by the arrival of a mysterious ballerina in his life.
7/15/09 – Another Philip K. Dick works includes Emily Blunt and Matt Damon to star in Adjustment Bureau, based on a PKD short story. George Nolfi directs. Variety reported Damon will play a smooth-talking congressman whose political future is thrown in doubt by uncontrollable events and the arrival in his life of a mysterious ballerina, played by Blunt. Production begins in mid-September in Gotham.
3/6/09 - Universal is finalizing a deal with Media Rights Capital for the film The Adjustment Bureau, which would star Matt Damon in a contemporary love story with sci-fi overtones loosely based on a Philip K. Dick story, reported Variety. In the original 1954 short story "Adjustment Team," a real estate salesman found that his world was really a soundstage under the control of mysterious overlords, but in the film, Damon's character will instead be a charismatic congressman apparently destined for national political stardom. Once he meets a beautiful ballet dancer, strange circumstances will conspire to keep them apart. The Adjustment Bureau is to be written and directed by George Nolfi.
