Spore

10/5/09 – Variety reported that EA Games and Twentieth Century Fox have teamed up to turn the popular simulation game Spore into a CGI-animated film.  The film version will be under the direction of director Chris Wedge.  Wedge said, “I'm always looking for unique worlds to go to in animation. From every perspective -- visually, thematically and comedically -- the world of Spore provides the potential to put something truly original on the screen."  Patrick O'Brien of EA Entertainment and Vice President of Maxis Studio Lucy Bradshaw will executive produce.  As for the script, it will be left to the imaginations of Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. Erb and Oremland were both script writers for the upcoming Disney movie, The Princess and the Frog.  Spore is a game where players make their own creatures, guide them through evolution and create brand-new worlds. Players can then share their creations and have their Spore creatures interact with the creatures created by other players.
