Neverland 11/4/10 - Rhys Ifans is shooting an epic new TV movie called Neverland, where he gets to play Peter Pan's nemesis, Captain Hook. Ifans spoke to the AP on the set of his latest project in Dublin — "Neverland," a two-part television movie that will air next year. Written and directed by Nick Willing, the fantasy aims to explain why Peter Pan ended up in the magical world where he never grows up and how Hook went from bad to worse. "It's every boy's dream to play Captain Hook," said Ifans. "We've all grown up with that myth and legend so big boots to fill but a lot of fun." Charlie Rowe plays Peter Pan. Anna Friel plays a power-mad pirate and seductress.
10/1/10 - Charles Dance has joined the cast of Syfy and Sky Movies HD's Neverland, a four-hour project slated to air in 2011. The prequel to author J.M. Barrie's "Peter Pan" is written and directed by Nick Willing. The project is produced by Dublin-based Parallel Films on behalf of MNG Films in association with Syfy and Sky Movies HD and will be distributed by RHI Entertainment. Dance will play the role of Dr. Richard Fludd, a 400-year-old former alchemist to Queen Elizabeth and the genius who can transport everyone back to their own time. He joins previously announced cast members Rhys Ifans, Anna Friel, Bob Hoskins, Raoul Trujillo and Charlie Rowe. According to a plot description, Peter Pan (Rowe), along with his pals of young pickpockets, have been rounded up by their mentor Jimmy Hook (Ifans) to snatch a magical orb which transports them to another world -- Neverland. Filled with white jungles and imposing cities formed out of trees created by Dr. Fludd (Dance), this mysterious realm welcomes unknown friends and enemies snatched from time.
