Jurassic Park 4

7/21/11 - Steven Spielberg told an audience at the Comic-Con fan convention that he has a story and a screenwriter for the fourth Jurassic Park.  The filmmaker directed the first two Jurassic Park adventures but would be overseeing as a producer this time. He says the film hopefully will come together in the next two or three years.

6/16/11 - Steven Spielberg has been meeting with screenwriter Mark Protosevich to kick around ideas for how to re-boot the Jurassic Park franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Both Universal and Spielberg stress that no one has been engaged to write a script and that the discussions have been purely exploratory.

1/14/10 - Joe Johnston, who directed the third Jurassic Park movie, confirmed that a fourth is in development, and that it could lead to more.  “Well, there is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it's going to be unlike anything you've seen. It breaks away from the first three—it's essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It's going to be done in a completely different way. That's pretty much all I can tell you.

6/17/09 - Producer Frank Marshall told reporters he was unsure about future installments of Jurassic Park and The Neverending Story.  As for a Jurassic Park sequel? "We'll have to see if they can come up with a story," Marshall said. "We don't have a story yet."  About the Neverending Story remake, Marshall said, "We love the book.  "We've always thought there was an opportunity there to tell a lot of elements that were in the book that weren't in the original movie. It's another one where we are still working on the rights. Once we get that, we'll bring on a writer. But it's off in the distance, but it's a great story."

12/31/06 - Perhaps one day but any rumors are only speculation.  There's nothing on any production company's radar to do this.  And who would dare after the second and third movies?  Even Michael Crichton was wise enough to stop after his second book.
