1/15/09 – SCI FI Wire reported that Diablo Cody, who wrote the script to the teenage possession movie Jennifer's Body, said she has seen a cut of the film and it is a great relief. Karyn Kusama directed the second produced script from Oscar-winning Juno screenwriter.  In the film, Megan Fox plays a possessed cheerleader who murders her classmates. "It's just a throwback to the movies I loved in the '80s: teenagers in peril, blood and fun, I think," Cody said.  Cody was also thrilled to see the gory scenes she wrote brought to life on the set. "They're practical effects," she said. "It wasn't a CGI movie. That was really interesting, the first day they drag in the fake latex body that looks exactly like your actor, you're just like, 'This is really strange.'"  Fox Atomic will release Jennifer's Body on Sept. 18.

12/22/08 - 20th Century Fox has set a Sept. 18, 2009, release date for Jennifer's Body, the horror comedy film from Oscar winner Diablo Cody.  The film stars Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Simmons, Adam Brody and J.K. Simmons, based on Cody's script. Karyn Kusama directed.  The movie centers on a gorgeous cheerleader (Fox), who is possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a small Minnesota farming town.  Her "plain Jane" best friend must kill her, then escape from a correctional facility to go after the Satan-worshipping rock band responsible for the horrible transformation.

9/3/08 - Amanda Seyfriend--who co-stars opposite Transformers' Megan Fox in the upcoming SF-horror film Jennifer's Body--told SCI FI Wire that her character, Needy Lesnicky, must step up and save the day when her best friend, Jennifer (Fox), becomes possessed by a demon and starts killing all the boys in town.  The hotly anticipated film is directed by Karyn Kusama and was penned by Oscar winner Diablo Cody.  "I'm trying to save the town from Megan, because she's become this demon," Seyfried said in an interview. "I can't do anything about it, but try to save the people that she's going to kill. I'm this mousy little character that Diablo wrote so incredibly well. I wear glasses, and I love her, and we're friends from the start, from the beginning of our lives. That's why we have such tight bonds."  Naturally, things go wrong, Seyfried added. "I have to realize that I have to grow up," she said. "We both have to grow up and out of our comfortable zones. I realize through this very strange experience what it takes to really disconnect from things that are wrong, that actually are wrong for you in the end."  Jennifer's Body, which also co-stars J.K. Simmons, Allison Janney and Amy Sedaris, will be released next year.

05/15/08 - Diablo Cody said recently that her follow-up feature, the horror film Jennifer's Body, has been "evolved" well beyond her original story, which she developed back "when I still had a day job."  She “had planned on it being a little gorier and maybe a little exploitative, a little more lurid."  Jennifer's Body stars Megan Fox in the title role, a high-school hottie, who finds herself possessed by a hungry demon with an appetite for boys. The film is co-produced Jason Reitman and is directed by Karyn Kusama.  On the subject of Jennifer's Body being an R-rated horror movie with art-house aesthetics, Cody allowed that she originally wrote the film with teenage girls very much in mind. "I hope it has things that excite teenagers, to be honest," she said with a laugh. "I hope they're not bored!" Jennifer's Body is wrapping production this week with an eye to a 2009 release.

01/28/08 - Karyn Kusama will direct Jennifer's Body, a supernatural comedic thriller that will star Megan Fox.  The film is about a cheerleader in a sleepy town whose perfect life goes haywire when she becomes possessed and begins killing the young men in town who lust after her.

10/23/07 - Diablo Cody has written and Megan Fox will star in Jennifer's Body, about a cheerleader who becomes possessed and begins killing boys in a small town.
