5/13/11 - Iron Sky will release on April 4, 2012, producers Blind Spot Pictures said. Five years in the making, Iron Sky is one of the first feature-length dramas to be made with a substantial portion of its budget coming from Internet fans, so-called cloud financing. Stealth Media Group is handling the world sales and is pitching Iron Sky to buyers in Cannes. The film has pre-sold to multiple territories, including Germany, Australia and China.
9/17/10 - Christopher Kirby has been cast as the third lead in Iron Sky, the Finnish sci-fi comedy about Nazis from outer space, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Kirby will play James Washington, the "first African-American astronaut on the Moon," according to Iron Sky producers Blind Spot Pictures. There he meets the Moon Nazis, played by German co-stars Gotz Otto and Julia Dietze. Iron Sky has begun production with delivery expected next year. Directed by Timo Vuorensola, the Finish-German-Australian co-production was in part financed by online fans.
05/23/08 - The Finnish production company Blind Spot Pictures has signed a co-production agreement with Oliver Damian's 27 Films Productions for their planned Nazis-in-space film Iron Sky, a dark SF comedy about Nazis who went to the moon in 1945 and return in 2018.
