3/10/11 - TNT has announced its premiere date for Steven Spielberg’s high-concept sci-fi series Falling Skies. Starring Noah Wyle and produced by Spielberg, Skies will launch with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, June 19 at 9 p.m. before settling into its time slot at 10 p.m.
12/27/10 - TNT published the official synopsis for Steven Spielberg's TV series Falling Skies. The TV show is an exciting new series from DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg. Noah Wyle stars as a former college professor who becomes the leader of a group of soldiers and civilians struggling against an occupying alien force. Moon Bloodgood co-stars as Anne Glass, a therapist who works with the surviving children to help them cope with the traumatic situation. The series also stars Drew Roy as Hal and Maxim Knight as Matt, Tom's two sons; and Seychelle Gabriel as Lourdes, an orphaned teenager who helps run the group's commissary. 1/22/10 - Cable network TNT is going into the sci-fi business with Steven Spielberg and Noah Wyle in an as-yet-untitled alien-invasion series set for 2011. The network has given the green light to 10 episodes of the new show, which will star Wyle. Robert Rodat wrote the pilot from an idea he co-conceived with Spielberg, and it was directed by Carl Franklin. Moon Bloodgood also stars. The series opens shortly after aliens have wiped out most of the human population. The aliens are now rounding up the few people left, but they are met with strong resistance from a group of soldiers and civilians who fight for their survival - all while struggling to maintain their humanity. Wyle plays Tom Mason, a former college history professor who becomes the reluctant leader of one of the resistance groups. Moon Bloodgood plays Anne Glass, a therapist who works with the surviving children to help them cope with the traumatic situation; Drew Roy as Hal and Maxim Knight as Matt, Tom's two sons; Jessy Schram as Karen, who is one of the survivors' motorcycle scouts; and Seychelle Gabriel as Lourdes, an orphaned teenager who helps run the group's commissary.
8/25/09 - Steven Spielberg's untitled alien-invasion drama pilot has landed in Canada for a two-week shoot, according to The Hollywood Reporter; the DreamWorks Television project for TNT, about a group battling an occupying alien force, is shooting in and around Hamilton, Ontario. Noah Wyle stars.
7/28/09 - Moon Bloodgood, Jessy Schram, Seychelle Gabriel and Maxim Knight have joined Noah Wyle on TNT's untitled alien invasion pilot from executive producer Steven Spielberg, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project, written by Robert Rodat from an idea he conceived with Spielberg, is set shortly after aliens have wiped out most of the human population and centers on a ragtag group of soldiers and civilians led by widower Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) who struggle against the occupying alien force. In the pilot, directed by Carl Franklin, Bloodgood, Schram, Gabriel and Knight all play members of the group. Bloodgood will play Anne Glass, a therapist working with the children to help them with the trauma of the alien invasion. With her strength and dry sense of humor, Anne, whose husband died during the invasion, becomes a bedrock of the survivors' community and Tom's confidant.
