The cast also includes Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld and Ben Kingsley.

12/21/11 - Harrison Ford has officially signed on to Ender’s Game, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Abigail Breslin has also joined the production.  Asa Butterfield is starring in the film along with Hailee Steinfeld and Ben Kingsley.  Set in a future where the Earth is under attack by an insect-like race, mankind has created a battle school to train fighting forces. In this environment enters Ender Wiggin, a kid who is tormented by bullies and an older brother but proves to be a master at a three-dimensional, zero-gravity laser tag-like game. That sets him on a path as a possible savior of the human race.  Ford will play the “Commander of Training for the International Fleet,” heading the academy. He spots Ender’s potential and pushes him to be the ruthless annihilator the commander so desperately needs him to be.  Breslin will play Ender's sister.  The movie is eying a February start.

12/16/11 - Canadian teen star Brendan Meyer has joined the film adaptation of the Orson Scott Card sci-fi novel, Ender’s Game, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Meyer will play Stilson, Ender’s classmate who taunted him during ground school in the futuristic film.  Ender's Game is described as the story of “a young boy, a genius strategist, who is drafted by the International Fleet to destroy the alien Formic race.”  Hailee Steinfeld and Ben Kingsley are currently in negotiations to join the film.  Gavin Hood wrote the script and is set to direct the film. The producing team includes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, OddLot’s Gigi Pritzker and Linda McDonough, as well as Lynn Hendee, Robert Chartoff and Card.  The production is set to start shooting early next year in New Orleans with a March 2013 release date.

12/1/11 - Hailee Steinfeld is in negotiations to star in OddLot Entertainment's Ender's Game.  Gavin Hood is directing the film from his own script.  Asa Butterfield is set to play the title character, a gifted young gamer skilled in strategy and logistics who's recruited by the government to help battle an insect-like alien race.  Steinfeld is in talks to play Petra Arkanian, the only girl in Salamander Army who quickly becomes Ender's ally and trusted right hand.

11/29/11 - Variety reported that Asa Butterfield will star as the title character in Ender's Game, Odd Lot Entertainment's adaptation of Orson Scott Card's 1985 sci-fi novel.  Gavin Hood is directing, which Summit Entertainment will release March 15, 2013.  Futuristic tale will follow a gifted young gamer with an almost preternatural capacity for strategy and logistics who is recruited by the government to help battle an insect-like alien race.  Now that the producers have found their young lead, their focus turns to the adult lead of Colonel Hyrum Graff, the Commander of Training for the International Fleet, an elite boys' military academy.  Odd Lot's Gigi Pritzker and Linda McDonough are producing with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman as well as Lynn Hendee and Orson Scott Card.
