The Night Chronicles: Devil 4/28/10 - Universal Pictures placed the M. Night Shyamalan written and produced horror movie The Night Chronicles: Devil, directed by John Erick and Drew Dowdle, for February 11, 2011.
10/16/09 – Variety reported that Universal Pictures has set Chris Messina to star in "Devil," a horror-thriller based on an M. Night Shyamalan story that will be directed by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle. Production begins in Toronto on Oct. 26. The film is being produced by Shyamalan and Sam Mercer. Brian Nelson wrote the script. The Dowdles will be exec producers. Plot's being kept under wraps, but sources said Messina plays the lead role of Bowden, a sobered-up homicide detective.
10/29/08 - M. Night Shyamalan and Media Rights Capital have formalized the first project in their three-picture deal to hatch horror films, Variety reported. Brian Nelson (30 Days of Night) is set to write the first project, Devil, which Quarantine helmer John Erick Dowdle will direct and produce with his brother, Drew Dowdle. The supernatural thriller is based on an original story by Shyamalan, who'll produce with Sam Mercer under the Night Chronicles banner. The Dowdle siblings will be executive producers.
