Crosshair

3/10/11 - Summit is in negotiations to pick up Crosshair, an action comic book from Top Cow Prods., according to The Hollywood Reporter.  David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are attached as producers, while Morgan Foehl is attached as the writer.  Mandeville picked up the comic during last year’s Comic Con, intent on developing the property as a film. In January, it set Foehl to write the script.  Top Cow’s Marc Silvestri and Matt Hawkins are exec producing along with Mandeville’s David Manpearl. Jeff Katz, who wrote the comic with Silvestri, is co-producing.  The story centers on a former CIA assassin-turned-suburban dad who must race against the clock to stop a program inside his brain from turning him into an unstoppable killing machine whose target is the U.S. president.

7/28/10 - Mandeville Films and Top Cow Productions have placed a target on the comicbook Crosshair as a bigscreen adaptation, according to Variety.  The Disney-based production shingle, run by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, will shepherd the film with Top Cow.  Property was created by Marc Silvestri and penned by Jeff Katz. Silvestri and Allan Jefferson illustrated the books.  Crosshair revolves around a former CIA assassin-turned-suburban superdad who must race against the clock to stop a program inside his brain from turning him into an unstoppable killing machine whose target is the U.S. president.  "Crosshair is a unique premise in which the main character is both the hero and the villain," Lieberman said. "This dichotomy is very unsettling, which makes it a fantastic twist for audiences."  Hoberman and Lieberman will produce. Katz, a former New Line and Fox exec who formed entertainment banner American Original last year, will co-produce for Top Cow. Mandeville's David Manpearl, Silvestri and Top Cow President Matt Hawkins will executive produce.
