Clash of the Titans 2 3/24/11 – Variety reported that Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy and Toby Kebbell will join the Clash of the Titans sequel. Pike is playing Queen Andromeda, replacing Alexa Davalos, who played the Greek character in last year's film. Kebbell, meanwhile, is set to play Poseidon's demigod son, Argenor, while Nighy will play the fallen god Hephaestus. Filming is taking place at Shepperton Studios and on location in Surrey, South Wales and on the Spanish island of Tenerife.
2/8/11 – Variety reported that Rosamund Pike is in negotiations to play the role of Andromeda in Warner Bros.' Clash of the Titans 2. Pike would be replacing Alexa Davalos in the Andromeda role. Jonathan Liebesman is directing with Sam Worthington reprise his turn as Perseus. Warner and Legendary Pictures are again partnered on Clash 2 with Basil Iwanyk returning as producer. Richard Zanuck is also producing. Scribes David Leslie Johnson and Dan Mazeau were tapped in June to pen the screenplay
12/8/10 - Liam Neeson is in for the sequel to Clash of the Titans, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Neeson will reprise the role of the Greek god Zeus in the film. He revealed that filming will begin March 2011. Sam Worthington (Perseus), Gemma Arterton (Io) and Ralph Fiennes (Hades) are attached to the sequel, which has a tentative release date of Spring 2012. James Franco is reportedly in talks to play Poseidon's son Agenor.
8/31/10 - Jonathan Liebesman has signed a deal to direct a sequel to Clash of the Titans, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie, a remake of the 1981 original, became a worldwide hit for Warner Bros. and financier Legendary Pictures, grossing more than $491 million. The studio is hoping to right the wrongs, shooting it in 3D (as opposed to have it added during postproduction, as with the first movie). Sam Worthington and Gemma Arterton are among the actors expected to return for the second installment.
4/28/10 - Fantasy remake Clash of the Titans will see a sequel, according to Deadline, which reported that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are aiming for a follow-up as soon as spring 2012. The film's worldwide gross sits at an impressive $389 million. The site reported that star Sam Worthington and a number of cast members will return, though director Louis Leterrier will not. The studio reportedly hopes to get to production before Worthington needs to turn his attention to Avatar 2.
