Chronicle 5/4/11 - Variety reported that Michael Kelly has landed the father role in 20th Century Fox's supernatural thriller Chronicle, slated for release next year. Produced by John Davis, the film will also star relative newcomers Michael B. Jordan, Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell and Ashley Hinshaw. Josh Trank will make his directorial debut.
4/15/11 - Variety reported that Twentieth Century Fox has tapped Michael B. Jordan and Alex Russell for lead roles in supernatural thriller Chronicle. Studio has also cast Ashley Hinshaw. Josh Trank will make his feature directorial debut from a script penned by Max Landis. John Davis is producing under his Davis Entertainment banner along with Adam Schroeder. While studio is keeping most project details under wraps, the film follows three Portland teens after they develop powers from exposure to a mysterious substance.
8/11/10 - Twentieth Century Fox is in negotiations to pick up Chronicle, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Josh Trank, son of Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Richard Trank, is attached to make his feature directing debut from a script by Max Landis, son of director John Landis. According to the studio, the story focuses on three Portland teens who develop incredible powers after being exposed to a mysterious substance in the woods. They work together to hone their skills for fun, until personal and family problems begin to turn them against one another. Chronicle is being eyed to be told in hand-held, documentary-style.
