Beauty and the Beast (TV)

1/25/12 - ABC is making Beauty and the Beast reboot this pilot season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The female-skewing network is moving forward with its reimagining of the classic fairy tale set in a mythical, dangerous world where a beautiful and tough princess discovers an unlikely connection with a mysterious beast.  Jonathan E. Steinberg will pen the project with Gary Fleder and Mary Beth Basile attached to executive produce the ABC Studios project through Mojo Films.  ABC's Beauty and the Beast update comes as the network has found success with freshman fairy tale Once Upon a Time.

9/16/11 - The CW is developing a Beauty and the Beast show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The network has ordered a script based on the 1980s CBS drama that starred Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton.  Brothers and Sisters duo producer Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper are attached to pen the project and executive produce alongside Paul Witt, C. Anthony Thomas, Ron Koslow and Bill Haber.  CBS owns the rights to the 1980s series, which ran for three seasons.
