At the Mountains of Madness
12/27/07 - Guillermo del Toro hopes to develop a movie adaptation of
H.P. Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness. Del Toro has
spent nearly five years developing a film based on Mountains,
a novella that Lovecraft published in 1931. The story centers on an
expedition in Antarctica that discovers the remains of ancient
creatures that were killed by their shapeshifting servants, called
shoggoths, and the shoggoths are still alive.
