Guillermo del Toro is expected to direct 3993 as his next
project. The film will complete the trilogy he began with The
Devil's Backbone and continued Pan's Labyrinth. The
title refers to two time periods: 1993 and 1939 and their unusual
relationship involving the Spanish Civil War.
