5/3/12 - Brad Bird is teaming up with Damon Lindelof for 1952, the sci-fi project set up at Disney, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Lindelof is producing the project and writing the script with Jeff Jensen.  The project is described as an epic tentpole.

6/10/11 - Damon Lindelof is working with Disney's feature film division to develop a brand-new sci-fi franchise, according to Deadline.  Lindelof will get seven figures to craft the original idea into a film, with possible multi-platform outreach, which could mean anything from an animated tie-in series to books, comic books or other digital media under the Disney umbrella.  As for details, there are none. Right now, he's writing the sequel to J.J. Abrams' successful Star Trek reboot with collaborators Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. When Lindelof is done with Trek, he'll move on to this new Disney deal, which already has the mysterious working title of 1952.
